Deputy Minister of National Education Mahmut Özer stated that the Ministry initiated "1000 Schools in Vocational Education" project in order to increase the quality of education in vocational and technical schools and decrease success differences between schools.

Underlining that the project has a wide coverage including school administrators, teachers, students, parents and school environment, Özer said, "We are taking steps concerning each and every component of the project. We defined the duration of project as 12 months. Our activities concerning the project continue as planned. One of the goals of the project was the establishment of circulating capital enterprises at the schools and increase product activities and applied training capacities. Moreover, we also aimed at increasing our support to teachers and students. In 2020, only 438 out of selected 1000 schools had circulating capital enterprise license. These schools increased their production activities by 42 percent during the first 11 months of 2020. We will establish circulating capital enterprises in the remaining 562 schools in 2021 and found two new workshops in every school."
