Due to the global coronavirus pandemic, this year's LGS exam was different from the ones in previous years and measures were taken in order to protect the health of students, teachers and parents. Every subject varying from the date of the exam to number of exam rooms, from disinfection activities to masks were defined carefully after consulting with the Science Board affiliated to the Ministry of Health.
Last year, LGS exam was held in 3 thousand and 873 buildings and 59 thousand and 568 rooms. This year, it took place in 18 thousand 139 buildings and 111 thousand and 918 rooms in order to maintain social distance.
Number of teachers who were on duty during the exam increased in parallel to the rise in the number of exam rooms. In 2019, 148 thousand and 946 teachers worked in LGS exams and this year 353 thousand and 158 teachers were present during the exam.
Different from exams in the previous years, 17 thousand and 990 guidance counselors were in the exam rooms in order to be support students. They also provided communication between parents and students during the 45-minute long break between two sessions of the exam.
Moreover, the Ministry provided exam services to all students who had been receiving education at home or hospital, who had been suffering from ongoing illnesses, mental deficiencies, physical deficiencies, autism spectrum disorder, mental or emotional disorders, hearing or visual disability.
These students who were home schooled or received education at hospital took the exam at home or at the hospital.

"I would like to send my regards to all of our parents who worked in an effort to prevent crowding in front of buildings by respecting measures we have taken and who acted responsibly during the exam."
