The Ministry of National Education continues to take concrete steps as a part of the "1000 Schools in Vocational Education Project" initiated in order to decrease the success discrepancies among schools and reinforce vocational education. 545 million liras is allocated for many activities varying from reinforcement of infrastructure and enrichment of the schools environment of selected schools. A total of 1000 libraries and 1855 smart boards are founded as a part of the project.
Required repairs and renovation of psychics, chemistry and biology labs of selected 1000 schools were completed in addition to newly built labs and workshops.
Meanwhile, 100 new labs/workshops were founded and 156 workshops were updated in order to increase the production capacity of these schools. 219 new labs/workshops were opened through other national and international projects. Within this framework, 241 million liras were spent for the project till now.
Within the framework of the project, maintenance and repair works of selected 1000 schools were completed and 50 million lira was allocated for these works in 2020.
In 2021, 250 million liras was allocated for the reinforcement and major repairs of schools in 2021.
Personal development of 528 thousand and 73 students was supported
18 thousand and 609 students attended support training programs designed for improving the basic skills of students and 55 thousand and 717 students attended first aid awareness training programs.
The Ministry provided psychosocial development support to 135 thousand and 879 students enrolled in the selected schools and organized more than 7 thousand and 778 informative activities about drug addiction. 225 thousand and 248 students attended these activities. The Ministry also organized 2 thousand and 498 career day at schools where successful and renowned professionals in science, culture, sports and industry shared their experiences and total of 70 thousand and 164 students participated.
Moreover, 1590 cultural, artistic and sports activities were organized in these schools and 22 thousand and 456 students attended. Till now, a total of 364 thousand and 247 students attended these support programs organized as part of the project.
Professional improvement training program for 383 thousand and 154 teachers
Training programs for school administrators and teachers of selected schools continue.
5 thousand and 629 training programs were organized in an effort to raise awareness about the project and a total of 114 thousand and 459 school administrators and teachers attended. 11 thousand and 279 school administrators attended the 2 thousand and 408 personal development and leadership training programs.
The Ministry prepared 4 thousand and 466 training programs for teachers in order to increase the productivity of the project and 99 thousand and 474 teachers have participated in these programs.
As a part of the project, 67 thousand and 500 teachers completed measurement and assessment training programs and 40 thousand and 166 teachers have attended intellectual and industrial property rights training programs. In addition to these programs, 35 thousand and 328 teachers participated in the first aid theoretical training program and 11 thousand and 715 of them completed the first aid program after attending required practice.
Deputy Minister of National Education Mahmut Özer stressed that the"1000 Schools in Vocational Education Project" initiated in order to increase the quality of vocational and technical education and decrease the success discrepancies among schools and reinforce vocational education.
Noting that the project started 8 months ago, Özer stated: "Project continues as planned. Till now, we have allocated 545 million for the project."
Meanwhile, monthly performance meetings for June of 2021 were organized under the leadership of Deputy Minister of National Education Mahmut Özer. The meeting focused on performance of the project and project performance indicators.
Director General for Vocational and Technical Education Kemal Varım Numanoğlu, Strategy Department Chairman Mehmet Fatih Leblebici, Director General for Support Services İsmail Çolak, Director General for Measurement, Assessment and Examination Sadri Şensoy, Director General for Construction and Real Estate Umut Gür, Bilgi İşlem Director General for Informatics Özgür Türk, Minister Advisors Sevil Uygun İlikhan, Aylin Şengün Taşçı, Hayri Eren Suna and Provincial Directors of National Education of 81 cities attended the meeting.
