Speaking at the opening ceremony of the "Training Workshop" established within the school within the framework of the "School-Industry Cooperation Istanbul Model Protocol" signed between Küçükyalı Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School and Hyundai Assan, Deputy Minister Şamlıoğlu firstly expressed his gratitude to those who contributed.
Noting that the contributing company is committed to supporting everything from the establishment of the automotive electromechanical workshop to the teaching material and in-service training activities of teachers, Deputy Minister Şamlıoğlu stated that significant support was provided to both education and the automotive industry. Şamlıoğlu said that as the Ministry, they welcomed the investment and cooperation.
Noting that it is also pleasing that students will be given internship and employment priority after graduation, Şamlıoğlu said that "The 'Century of Türkiye' movement, which started under the leadership of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, and the 'National Technology Move', which includes the nationalization and localization process in many areas, have a critical importance. Stating that strengthening the defense industry today, Şamlioğlu said that agricultural breakthroughs and technological smart tools such as TEKNOFEST and TOGG expand the impact of this move and strengthen the infrastructure of Türkiye. The Deputy Minister expressed that the National Technology Move journey of Türkiye is also a process of building self-confidence.
Şamlıoğlu expressed that, with the awareness that the 21st century is about locality, nationality, originality and creating added value, they have made great strides in the defense, aviation and space industry with works such as GÖKTÜRK and TÜRKSAT satellites, İMECE, GÖKBEY and ATAK HELİCOPTER, ANKA, AKSUNGUR UAV, HÜRKUŞ, HÜRJET, KIZIL ELMA, ŞİMŞEK, TURNA, NATIONAL COMBAT AIRCRAFT, BORA, SUNGUR, HİSAR.
The importance of vocational and technical education is increasing all over the world
Pointing out that the importance of vocational and technical education is increasing all over the world simultaneously with rapidly changing information, technology, production methods and developments in business life, Şamlıoğlu stated that vocational and technical education makes serious contributions to the training of qualified manpower needed by the industry. He noted that vocational education is among the priorities of the Ministry, as it contributes to Türkiye's economic development and reduces youth unemployment. Stating that the contribution of the young population to the production process and their active participation in the labor market by increasing their knowledge and skill levels is ensured through vocational education, Şamlıoğlu underlined that the qualified workforce needed by the sector is trained through vocational and technical education in 54 fields and 114 branches in vocational and technical Anatolian high schools and in 38 fields and 192 branches in vocational training centers.
Stating that there is a need to establish a stronger and more inclusive bond between sectors and vocational and technical education institutions in vocational education and to enrich collaborations, Şamlıoğlu said that the Ministry attaches importance to this issue. Şamlıoğlu noted that through mutual interaction, educators and students at schools will have the opportunity to be informed about the developments in the sector and to get to know the needs of the sector closely. Pointing out that this cooperation, which can be described as a manifestation of the friendship between South Korea and Türkiye, will make great contributions to the sector and the Turkish economy, Şamlıoğlu thanked the Consul General on this occasion.
