A cooperation protocol was signed between the Ministry of National Education and the Turkish Petroleum Corporation (TPAO) in order to train the qualified manpower needed by the oil and natural gas industry.
Deputy Minister of National Education Sadri Şensoy were present on behalf of the Ministry of National Education and the Chairman of the Board of Directors and General Manager of Turkish Petroleum Corporation (TPAO) Chairman of the Board of Directors Melih Han Bilgin were present on behalf of TPAO at the ceremony held at the center located in the Turkish Petroleum Port.
Stating that the good news of Black Sea gas given by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on April 20 was very pleasing, Deputy Minister Şensoy said that they decided to build a school together with the TPAO in order to train qualified personnel in the field of oil and natural gas.
Emphasizing that the school to be established in Filyos will be a first in Türkiye, Şensoy said that they will transfer all their knowledge and opportunities in terms of administrators, teachers and technical infrastructure. Announcing that all the physical environments of the school will be made by the Turkish Petroleum Corporation, Şensoy said that the Ministry will provide all the equipment in the building using the latest technology.
Stating that there will be 16 classrooms and a youth hostel with a capacity of 200 people, consisting 100 girls and 100 boys, in the school to be built on 7 thousand 600 square meters, Deputy Minister Şensoy said that the students will be admitted through LGS. Şensoy said that the school has a 1-year preparatory program and an education period that will last for 5 years.
Stating that they will start a program to train qualified human resources in the oil and natural gas sector Chairman of the Board of TPAO Melih Han Bilgin said that the youth are their future and they will continue to invest in their future.
The signing ceremony was held after the speeches.Governor of Zonguldak Mustafa Tutulmaz, Deputy Ahmet Çolakoğlu and Deputy Polat Türkmen, Director General for Vocational and Technical Education Nazan Şener and Zonguldak Provincial Director of National Education Züleyha Aldoğan also attended the program.
Within the scope of cooperation, the construction of a vocational and technical Anatolian high school specialize in the field of oil and natural gas, the first of which will be in Zonguldak; It is aimed to have the school building, social facilities, accommodation areas and additional education areas built by TPAO and, if agreed, to build schools in other oil production campuses in Türkiye.
