Minister of National Education Mahmut Özer first met with Kosovo Minister of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation Arberie Nagavci at the prime ministry. His meeting with Nagavci was closed to the press.
Later, he was received by the Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti.
Nagavic, Kosovo Minister of Regional Development Fikrim Damka, Turkish Ambassador to Pristina Çağrı Kasar and delegations were present at the meeting which was closed to the press.
Visit to Maarif Foundation and ve Elena Gjika schools
Minister Mahmut Özer visited Maarif Foundation Pristina School and Elena Gjika Primary School as a part of his Kosovo program.
Kosovo Minister of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation Abrerie Nagavci and Kosovo Minister of Regional Development Fikrim Damka accompanied Özer during his visit to Elena Gjika Primary School giving education both in Turkish and Albanian.
Özer gave bags to students as a gift and said that cooperation in the field of education between two countries were the main topic of the meetings during his two day official visit.
Minister Özer noted that they have decided to cooperate in professional improvement programs of teachers and improvement of robotic coding digital infrastructure in Kosovo adding that, "This school in Kosovo has a crucial meaning. It gives education both in Turkish and Albanian and it is one of the oldest schools in Pristina. As a token of our goodwill, the Ministry of National Education is ready to give support to the establishment of various different labs required for the development of digital infrastructure, robotic coding, animation and digital context."
Expressing his happiness to cooperate with Kosovo and design new projects, Özer stated, "We can establish labs similar to the ones we had in our 185 science and arts center in these schools. Students from different parts of Kosovo will have the opportunity to attend training programs in this lab."
Meanwhile, Kosovo Minister of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation Nagavci stated that they provide equal services to all communities regardless of their education language adding that, "The Republic of Kosovo government is determined to provide equal opportunity to all of our citizens. For the first time in our history, we have translated all text books to the language of communities living in our country and signed agreements for the professional improvement of teachers."
A presentation about Kosovo Artificial Intelligence and STEAM Center project took place during the ceremony.
Later, Özer visited the Kosovo International Maarif Schools. He toured the chemistry, biology, painting and music classes and chatted with students.
Director General for EU and Foreign Relations Burcu Eyisoy Dalkıran, Director General for Vocational and Technical Education Nazan Şener and Director General for Teacher Training and Improvement Cevdet Vural accompanied Minister Özer during his Kosovo visit.
