Minister of National Education Ziya Selçuk and his Albanian counterpart Evis Kuşi came together with the students who are getting online Turkish lessons in the Asım Vokshi Foreign Languages High School.
Minister Selçuk had a chat with students leaning Turkish and wished them success in their education life.
"It is very valuable for us to see that you have preferred to learn Turkish. It is very exciting and flattering to have chat with you in Turkish," said Selçuk.
Later, Selçuk attended the opening ceremony of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk Primary School which was restored with the financial support of Turkish Embassy in Tirana, the capital city of Albania.
Minister Selçuk thanked local administrators who named the school after Mustafa Kemal Atatürk during his speech at the opening ceremony and expressed his wish that students who love their country and have knowledge about the world would get education in this school.
Reminding that all great works are born from a dream or an idea, Selçuk thanked Turkey's Ambassador to Tirana Murat Ahmet Yörük and his spouse and other donators for their dream to build this school.
"Children from Turkey will come here and your children will come to Turkey. Our cooperation will boost with the foundation of such education institutions," said the Minister of National Education.
Meanwhile, Minister Kuşi stated that the school transformed into a more modern building after the restoration and it also became more suitable for the improvement of education process with modern classrooms, restored labs and heating system.
"Every support to education is important even if it is humble. You want to make a projection about the future of one country; you must examine its education system. This support is the evidence of support given by Turkey to Albania for many years," Albanian Minister said.
Visit to the Maarif Foundation's University
Minister Selçuk and a delegation from the Ministry of National Education visited the New York Tirana University founded by the Turkish Maarif Foundation.
Selçuk had a meeting with the university's Rector Prof. Dr. İsmail Kocayusufoğlu.
Minister Selçuk said the Foundation's only university in Albania is located in a nice complex and his Ministry will give all kinds of support for the success of this university.
Expressing his belief that the university will make important contributions to humanity by taking firm steps to the future, Selçuk went on to say: "I believe that this university will educate world class experts and its graduates will make great contributions to this country and the world."
