THE MINISTRY OF NATIONAL EDUCATION IS USING EVERY MEANS AVAILABLE TO PROVIDE SHELTER AND FOOD SERVICES TO EARTHQUAKE VICTIMS

Stating that The Ministry has mobilized all their resources in ten provinces affected by the earthquakes Özer said that teachers, school administrators, provincial directors and Ministry staff are making efforts to help citizens in the region.
 
Özer noted that education was suspended and schools including their gardens, practice hotels and teachers' houses are open for the accommodation of citizens.
 
Özer shared that they provide accommodation services to approximately 251 thousand citizens in the dormitories, hostels, teacher's houses and practice hotels affiliated to the Ministry of National Education. Özer added that the MEB search and rescue team with 2,500 people is deployed to ten provinces. Noting that the food and beverage departments of vocational high schools and the restaurants of teachers' houses also provide support to meet the food and water needs of the citizens, Özer stated that they have reached the capacity to serve 372 thousand people on a daily basis. Özer said that the search and rescue unit, which is affiliated to the Ministry of National Education, consisting of approximately 2,500 teachers who had been trained by the Ministry of Interior and AFAD, was sent with ten quake-hit provinces. The team continued the search and rescue efforts.
 
Minister Özer visited Tevfik Ileri Imam Hatip Secondary School and Ziraat Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School. Meeting with the citizens at Tevfik İleri Imam Hatip Secondary School and listening to their demands, Özer served hot soup to citizens affected by the earthquake.
 
Afterwards, Özer visited the citizens staying in tents. Minister Özer, who came together with the earthquake victims in Pınarbaşı fairground, distributed food to citizens.
