Minister of National Education Mahmut Özer announced that following the update of the education program in vocational and technical education according to real needs of the sector, the Ministry will distribute vocational class textbooks for free for the first time.
Noting that there are 3 thousand and 156 vocational high schools giving education in 47 fields and 105 branches, Minister Özer said, "Vocational class textbooks of the 9th grade students studying in these schools will be ready at their school desks. After updating the education program in vocational and technical education according to real needs of the sector, the Ministry will distribute vocational class textbooks for free for the first time."
Minister Özer stated that 1 million 680 thousand and 92 textbooks which will be used for 87 different vocational classes of 47 fields for the 9th grade students were published and sent to schools for free distribution and went on to say that:
"A large group of teachers started to work for the preparation of textbooks in April 2020 and considered values in education in order to offer more and qualified practice opportunities for students. Our goal must be raising a qualified labor force needed in every level of production and students who are determined, have entrepreneurship skills, could produce information, use their knowledge in daily life, capable of solving problems, critical thinking and have advanced communication skills."
Barcode application in the textbooks
Minister Özer mentioned the following information about vocational class textbooks.
"There is a barcode application in the textbooks concerning animation and video recordings in order to allow students to practice," said Özer, adding that students will be able to watch videos over and over again by using the barcode.
Minister Öze added that the preparation of 11th and 12th grade textbooks and elective course textbooks as well as certificate program textbooks still continue at the Ministry.
