Since the beginning of corona virus pandemic, the Ministry of National Education has boosted the production capacity of vocational and technical Anatolian High Schools.
Vocational high schools which made the serial production of many products varying from cleaning and disinfection products to masks, from disposal aprons and allovers to face shields continue to increase their capacity within the context of working capital that makes an important contribution to the development of the skill of students.
Within this framework, revenues from last year's production increased by 40 percent when compared to 2018 and reached 400 million Turkish Liras.
Despite hardships due to the new type of corona virus (Covid-19) pandemic, this increase trend continues. Revenues gained during the first ten months of this year increased by 25 percent when compared to the same period of 2019 and reached 330 million Turkish Liras.
Deputy Minister of National Education Mahmut Özer said that the Ministry has been working in an effort to increase production capacity of vocational high schools and reinforce the "training-production-employment" cycle.
Stating that income gained from production increased by 40 percent when compared to 2018 as a result of planing and arrangements, Özer said: "Although we experienced troubles in the production of some products due to Covid-19 pandemic, we tried to overcome these problems by making a change in the production portfolio. We focused on production of producs demanded during this period such as masks, disinfectants, face shields, mask machines and ventilators. As a result we increased our revenues by 25 percent when compared to the same period in 2019. First three cities which earned the highest number of revenues in the first one month of this year are İstanbul, Ankara and İzmir. During this period, vocational high schools in İstanbul earned 33 million and 884 thousand liras, schools in Ankara earned 25 million and 955 thousand liras and schools in İzmir earned 15 million and 545 thousand liras.
İstanbul Küçükçekmece Nahit Menteşe Vocational and Technical Anatolia High School Ranks First
Özer stated that Nahit Menteşe Vocational and Technical Anatolia High School in İstanbul earned 7 million and 656 million Turkish Liras and ranked first while Kütahya Prof. Dr. Necmettin Erbakan Vocational and Technical Anatolia High School ranked second with 6 million and 328 thousand income and Kayseri Melikgazi Vocational and Technical High School ranked third.
Deputy Minister Özer thanked Directorate General for Vocational and Technical Training, all provincial directors of national education, school administrators, teachers and students.
